BARRE, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont state police trooper accused of stalking and harassing his estranged wife has pleaded not guilty.

Forty-nine-year-old Raymond LeBlanc, a sergeant and patrol commander assigned to the Middlesex barracks, was in court Thursday in Barre.

Court documents say LeBlanc verbally abused his wife through texts and used GPS information to show up where she was.

WCAX-TV reports his attorney argues, “Nothing happened. No gun was pulled, no badge was shown, nothing occurred.”

Vermont State Police wouldn’t comment on the case but say LeBlanc is on leave. He’s due back in court in March.

Democratic Attorney General T.J. Donovan, whose office is prosecuting, says it is important to uphold the law no matter who is being charged.
