Death of woman in her 80s investigated as suspicious

FLORISSANT, Mo. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of an 87-year-old woman in a St. Louis-area home as suspicious.

St. Louis County police were called Wednesday morning to a home in the northern part of the county and found Barbara Mabrey dead from an apparent head injury. No other details were immediately released.

The investigation is being handled by the department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons.
