PHOENIX (AP) - An Arizona Court of Appeals judge has died.

State courts spokesman Aaron Nash confirms that Judge Jon W. Thompson died Monday at a hospital but said cause of death was not immediately available.

The 65-year-old Thompson was an attorney in private practice in Flagstaff when he was appointed to the intermediate appellate court in 1995 by then-Gov. Fife Symington.

Thompson previously served as a deputy county attorney in Coconino and Yuma counties after working in private practice in Phoenix.
