NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A police officer in Tennessee has been charged with driving under the influence, at least 20 mph under the speed limit.
News outlets report Metro Nashville Officer Conner Harris was arrested Sunday after being pulled over by a Wilson County sheriff’s deputy. A city statement issued Monday says the deputy reported that Harris showed signs of impairment, had red, watery eyes and slurred his speech. Nashville police say a blood sample from Harris has been sent to a state crime lab for testing.
The city statement says the 32-year-old officer has been decommissioned and assigned to desk duty pending an internal investigation.
It’s unclear if the six-year veteran has a lawyer.
