OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a Fremont man suspected of hitting a woman on an Omaha sidewalk last month without stopping.

Omaha television station KETV reports that 69-year-old Aldean Drieling on Wednesday. Drieling is believed to have been driving a van that hit the 29-year-old woman on June 25, critically injuring her.

Omaha Police Sgt. Jason Menning says the van was found in Fremont with the help of the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.



Witnesses told police that the van being driven recklessly while traveling east on Maple Street when it made an abrupt lane change, drove over the curb and hit the woman.

Drieling is charged with failing to stop and render aid. His next court appearance is set for Aug. 6.
