FLINT, Mich. (AP) - A judge has found a Flint-area woman guilty in the 2016 fatal shootings of two women who worked at the apartment complex where she lived.
The Flint Journal reports Genesee Circuit Judge Joseph Farah ruled Tuesday against 57-year-old Jacquelyne Tyson in front of a packed courtroom including family and friends of the victims. Farah found Tyson guilty of first-degree murder in the slaying of 20-year-old Lyric Work at the Grand Oaks Apartments leasing office in Grand Blanc and second-degree murder in the death of 45-year-old Tamara Johnson.
Work was 33 weeks pregnant at the time and a daughter was delivered by cesarean section seven weeks early.
The judge also found Tyson to be mentally ill but rejected an insanity plea on her behalf. An Aug. 6 sentencing date was set.
