Not many people believed Rob Gronkowski was truly done with football when he announced his retirement earlier this year. This will only fuel conjecture that he could come back.

Gronkowski caught passes from Tom Brady at a private workout in Los Angeles Monday, masslive.com reported.

The future Hall of Famers were teammates for nine seasons with the New England Patriots. While Brady is still going at age 41 (42 in August), Gronkowski called it a career last March shortly before his 30th birthday.

The report indicated that Brady’s personal trainer Alex Guerrero, allegedly a divisive figure around the Patriots’ facility, also attended the workout on the campus of UCLA.

New York Jets safety Jamal Adams was among many who expressed skepticism that the NFL had seen the last of “Gronk.”

“He ain’t fooling me. He’ll be back,” Adams said in April.
