CHICOPEE, Mass. (AP) - Police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting in Chicopee last weekend.
The Republican newspaper reports that 27-year-old Daniel Caldwell is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on a murder charge in the shooting Sunday morning of 27-year-old Charles White, of Springfield.
Chicopee police responded to reports of gunfire at about 12:40 a.m.
White was found outside with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have said the victim knew the shooter and that it was not a random act of violence.
It was unclear if the suspect had an attorney.
It was the first homicide in Chicopee since September 2017.
