NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Two inmates in Tennessee face charges in an attack on a correctional officer, while authorities have charged a different inmate with first degree murder in another prisoner’s death.

A Tennessee Bureau of Investigation news release says 42-year-old Robert Rudolph and 41-year-old Kevin Grandberry are charged with attempted first degree murder for an October attack on a corrections officer at the South Central Correctional Facility in Clifton.

TBI says South Central inmate 57-year-old Walter E. Kendrick was indicted on a first degree murder charge for the death of 52-year-old prisoner Tyrone Elliott Montgomery in January.

The three indicted inmates are already serving life sentences.
