SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) - Law enforcement officers are looking for an inmate who escaped from the Pettis County jail.

Sheriff Kevin Bond says 30-year-old jail officers discovered Travis Lee Davis escaped Sunday night.

The Sedalia Democrat reports Davis, of Sedalia, was jailed on a $100,000 bond after a hostage situation last month. Sedalia police say he held a woman and a toddler hostage inside an apartment bedroom on Feb. 13. The boy and woman were released. Police say Davis resisted arrest but was taken into custody after about two hours.

Davis is 6-feet tall, white, and 150 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes and several tattoos, including an eye within a triangle on the front of his neck.

Court records show Davis has three previous arrests for resisting arrest.
