PATERSON, N.J. (AP) - Police say two people were killed in a crash on an interstate highway in New Jersey over the weekend.

New Jersey State Police troopers say the crash took place around 11 a.m. Sunday on the westbound section of Route 80 in Paterson. Police have not immediately identified the victims of the crash.

Authorities are working to identify the cause of the crash. A small group of people identified as family and friends of a victim gathered on the overpass above the site of the crash Sunday afternoon.

Authorities did not indicate when all lanes of the highway would be reopened.
