GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a toddler was killed and two adults were injured after a fire erupted in a garage, burning part of a home near Grand Junction.

The Daily Sentinel reports firefighters from the Clifton Fire Protection District and the Grand Junction Fire Department were called to the Pear Park home late Saturday.

Authorities say fire crews discovered the child was unaccounted for as the garage became fully engulfed in flames.

Witnesses say they heard numerous explosions as the fire spread.

The two adults were taken to a hospital, one with burn injuries and the other for smoke inhalation.

Authorities are investigating the fire.
