PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was killed during an exchange of gunfire with police after he allegedly shot two of his adult children and fired at his wife at their southern Michigan home.

State police say they hope to send a report to the Calhoun County prosecutor’s office this week for review about Saturday’s shooting that left 46-year-old Joel Kellay dead.

Kellay was fatally shot in Pennfield Township in what police say began as a domestic violence complaint. Authorities say he was drunk when an argument with his wife turned physical. She said he fired a gun at her as she fled. He also allegedly wounded his 18-year-old son in the arm and 22-year-old son in the stomach.

Police say three officers from two departments are on administrative leave.
