COVINGTON, La. (AP) - A Louisiana sheriff’s deputy has been arrested on charges of drug possession and fired.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports 36-year-old Terry D. Cederholm II was fired from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office immediately after his arrest Tuesday. The sheriff’s office says Cederholm was arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation.

The sheriff’s office says he was hired for corrections work in 2007 and worked court security before transferring to criminal patrol. Cederholm left the department in 2009 and returned in 2014.

It says further details won’t be immediately released. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.
