CORONA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities searching for an 8-year-old boy missing for two weeks in Southern California have arrested his parents, police said Thursday.
The investigation began Tuesday when officers spoke with the mother of Noah McIntosh and unsuccessfully attempted to contact his father at an apartment, the Corona Police Department said.
Officers served a search warrant at the residence early Wednesday and found Bryce McIntosh, 32, inside with his 11-year-old daughter, but Noah was not there.
Detectives arrested the father for investigation of suspected child abuse. The mother, Jillian Godfrey, 36, was also arrested, the department later announced. It wasn’t immediately known if the parents have attorneys.
Other local family members were contacted but could not provide information about the boy’s whereabouts, police said in a statement.
Corona is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) southeast of Los Angeles in western Riverside County.
