Former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke announced Monday his 2020 Democratic presidential campaign raised a record $6.1 million in its first 24 hours.

The donations were made online from people in all 50 states, according to CNN.

The $6 million haul is a record compared to fellow 2020 contenders vying for the Democratic nomination.



Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont raised $5.9 million, according to CNN, while Sen. Kamala D. Harris of California brought in $1.5 million.
