BRADDOCK, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a Pittsburgh-area police officer has been charged with driving under the influence while on duty.
WTAE-TV reports that Braddock officer Renee Jones was also charged with reckless and careless driving.
Authorities said she went to UPMC McKeesport early Jan. 24 on a report of a gunshot victim, but another officer said she appeared under the influence and a blood test after she was found passed out in her running vehicle indicated she had fentanyl in her system.
Police said a 911 caller that morning reported a Braddock police car driving erratically near Duquesne McKeesport Bridge, striking a median, and also driving into the oncoming lane near Eastland Shopping Center.
Court documents don’t list a defense attorney and a listed number for Jones couldn’t be found Monday.
