NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) - A judge in North Las Vegas has ordered the parents of a young girl who disappeared last August held without bail pending their arraignment on murder charges.

A court official said Monday that Lakeia Walker and Ricky Beasley were scheduled to have lawyers named to their defense during their arraignments Wednesday before Justice of the Peace Natalie Tyrrell.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the couple made brief court appearances by video from jail on Monday.

Walker and Beasley are both 27. Walker was arrested Friday after police spent nearly seven months trying to find anyone who saw 2-year-old Zaela Walker after the child was reported missing Aug. 25.

Police say the girl was last seen with her parents.

Beasley was already in jail on kidnapping and vehicle possession charges.
