GOP Rep. Steve King of Iowa posted a meme on his Facebook page Sunday asking about the outcome of another American civil war.

The meme depicted states formed into two men, divided by typically red and blue, fighting each other, Mediaite tweeted. The text in the picture reads, “Folks keep talking about another civil war. One side has about 8 trillion bullets while the other side doesn’t know which bathroom to use.”

Mr. King asked, “wonder who would win….” and added a smirking emoji. The meme depicted his home state of Iowa as a Democratic state being punched.

Since Monday, the meme has been deleted from his page.

House Republicans stripped Mr. King of his committee seats in January after he made comments in a newspaper interview that were interpreted to be equating “white nationalism” and “western civilization.” Mr. King says the reporter misinterpreted the quote, and there is no audio of it.

Mr. King does have a history of stirring controversy with remarks about immigration and changing demographics in the U.S.
