President Trump slammed Democrats promoting socialism in the U.S. Tuesday, saying it’s “the last thing we want.”
During a White House press conference with conservative Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Mr. Trump proclaimed “the twilight hour of socialism has arrived in our hemisphere” for countries such as Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua.
Then Mr. Trump commented, “Hopefully, by the way, it’s also arrived, that twilight hour, in our great country…The last thing we want in the United States is socialism.”
Presidential candidate Sen. Bernard I. Sanders of Vermont is a socialist, and several Democratic newcomers in Congress have been pushing a socialist agenda this year.
