Attorney General William Barr left the Justice Department early Saturday evening after spending nearly nine hours reviewing special counsel Robert Mueller’s final conclusions on Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Mr. Barr said Friday that intended to provide Congress with Mr. Mueller’s “principal conclusions” as early as this weekend.

Now Congress and the public must wait at least one more day to learn the results of the most significant investigation into the president of the last 20 years.

The breathless anticipation has put lawmakers, reporters and others in a holding pattern Saturday.

President Trump has remained quiet on Twitter since Mr. Mueller delivered his report to the attorney general Friday.

Perhaps buoyed by the news Mr. Mueller won’t bring any more indictments, the president spent the day playing golf with Kid Rock.
