LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says troopers have seized nearly 400 pounds of marijuana in separate traffic stops on Interstate 80.

The patrol says both stops happened Monday, with the first occurring just before noon near Lincoln. That’s where a car was stopped on suspicion of driving on the shoulder. Officials say a search of the car using a drug dog turned up 180 pounds of marijuana. The car’s 50-year-old driver from Louisiana was arrested.

About two hours later near Utica, a trooper stopped a pickup truck for failing to signal a turn onto an exit ramp. Officials say a different dog helped searched the truck, uncovering nearly 220 pounds of marijuana in the truck’s covered bed.

A 60-year-old woman from Oregon was arrested in that stop.
