LOS ANGELES (AP) - The final defendant convicted of the murder of a Chinese graduate student in Los Angeles has been sentenced to prison.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge sentenced 22-year-old Alberto Ochoa on Friday to a life term without possibility of parole.
He and three others were convicted of the July 24, 2014, killing of 24-year-old University of Southern California student Xinran Ji.
The victim was attacked by the group as he walked home from a study group near the USC campus. He made it back to his apartment and died before he was found by a roommate.
Ochoa was convicted of first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree robbery and attempted second-degree robbery.
The other defendants were sentenced to prison previously.
