LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) - State police said Friday that two civilian employees are facing criminal charges after allegedly falsifying time cards.
The department launched an investigation on Feb. 25 into two transportation inspectors at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry who had claimed to work hours they didn’t work.
Police say the two men, identified as 41-year-old Eliasib Ramirez and 26-year-old Joseph Vielma, admitted to falsifying their time sheets and daily activity logs.
Ramirez faces four felony counts of reciving public money for services not rendered. Vielma faces three of the same charges, and both men also face one count of forgery and one count of conspiracy.
The men were placed on administrative leave.
