COOLIDGE, Ariz. (AP) - Airports in Coolidge and Holbrook have been awarded more than $14 million by the federal government for runway improvement projects.

Coolidge Municipal Airport will receive $9.5 million to improve the pavement on its twin runways. Holbrook Municipal Airport will receive $4.7 million to renovate its main landing strip.

Both airports mainly serve small private aircraft.

The grants announced Wednesday by the Federal Aviation Administration are part of $799 million in supplemental airport funding cash handed out under provisions of the 2018 federal budget.
