PHOENIX (AP) - A Mesa man has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Prosecutors say 30-year-old Robert Lee Jose was sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Phoenix.

He must serve three years of supervised release after his prison term.

In March 2018, Jose was accused of fatally shooting the victim in the head after a heated argument.

Authorities say both Jose and the victim are members of the Gila River Indian Community south of Phoenix.
