LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities say a pedestrian was killed in Las Vegas when struck by a car driven by an off-duty police officer.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a 62-year-old man was not in a crosswalk when he was hit in a traffic lane late Monday night.

According to the Highway Patrol, the officer tried to avoid the pedestrian but the right front of his vehicle struck the pedestrian.



No identities were released.
