MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Some central Vermont communities are repairing flood damage caused by heavy rains.

The Times Argus reports some communities were awash with water that caused flooding and serious erosion in some cases after a night of thunderstorms and heavy rain on Sunday.

In Middlesex, town road commissioner Paul Cerminara had to use a ladder to cross a washed-out section of his driveway so he could begin repairing damage to local roads.

Damage was also reported in Worcester and Waterbury.

Mark Bosma of Vermont Emergency management says the Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission is collecting information from towns about any damage they might have suffered.
