OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Officials in Oklahoma City say a man has been rescued from a vehicle that plunged into the Oklahoma River.
Firefighters say a car veered off a roadway, plowed through a fence and drove into the river at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say a woman who witnessed the crash jumped into the water and tried to free the driver as the car became partially submerged. The man was eventually freed by the fire department’s dive team. Firefighters say no one else was in the vehicle.
Authorities say first responders performed CPR on the man, who was transported to an area hospital. His name and condition have not been released. The witness who tried to free the man was treated for minor injuries.
