LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - A man who led police on a chase throughout southwest Louisiana before being shot by an officer last year has pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
The American Press reports 36-year-old Cody Glenn Light, of Cullman, Alabama, pleaded Monday in state court to 14 charges, including four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, and aggravated flight from an officer.
Light’s wild ride through Sulphur and Carlyss included backyards, fields and residences and, at one point, he brandished a gun while threatening drivers on Interstate 10 before he was caught. At the time of his arrest, he was wanted in Alabama for several charges, including attempted murder of a police officer.
State District Judge Guy Bradberry sentenced Light to 35 years behind bars.
