PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a Phoenix man has been arrested for allegedly impregnating an 11-year-old girl.

Phoenix police say 20-year-old Carlos Jacinto Cobo-Perez is facing felony charges of aggravated assault and sexual conduct with a minor and remains jailed on a $150,000 cash-only bond.

It was unclear Thursday if Cobo-Perez has an attorney yet.

Police say the girl was taken to a Phoenix hospital on May 16 and her pregnancy was confirmed.

They say she identified Cobo-Perez as the man who got her pregnant.

Police say Cobo-Perez was warned to stay away from the girl after her mother saw a hickey on her neck last November.

Court documents show Cobo-Perez told police he knew it was wrong to be involved with the underage girl and promised to stop seeing her.
