EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - A man suspected in the deadly shooting of a woman in Everett was tracked down and captured after a gun battle with police.

KOMO-TV reports the drama began at around 8 a.m. Friday when officers responded to a report of shots fired at a business in Central Everett.

Everett Police Deputy Chief John DeRousse says a woman was found there with a gunshot wound. Officers performed CPR, but the woman died.

The suspect, a 59-year-old Arlington man, fled the scene in a Chevy Corvette and police found him at about 11 a.m. Officers surrounded his vehicle and the suspect opened fire.

Everett police officers and a Snohomish County sheriff’s sergeant fired back and he was arrested.



Officials say the victim and suspect were married.
