ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been convicted of murder and assault charges for a shooting in Rochester that left two bystanders dead and a woman paralyzed.
Samuel Shaw was found guilty Thursday for killing William Gibson and Anthony Robertson last June. Shaw fired 13 rounds in a Rite Aid parking lot in a barrage that also left Alia Nunez paralyzed from the waist down.
The two men were killed while sitting in a car. Nunez was shot while sitting in the front seat of a Ford Excursion.
Police said the three victims were not the intended targets. The prosecution didn’t establish a motive for the shootings.
The defense tried to dispute physical evidence presented at trial and said Shaw maintained his innocence.
He will be sentenced on July 25.
