NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Delaware police say they’re looking for a man in a silver GMC pickup truck who offered a woman a ride and then forced himself on her at knife-point.
Newark police said the sexual assault was reported early Saturday and a 21-year-old woman was treated for minor injuries.
The woman told police she as walking on South Chapel Street at around 1 a.m. when the pickup stopped. The driver told her he worked for a ride-sharing service and though the victim had not called for a ride, she entered the truck anyway.
The motorist drove off but later stopped, showed a knife and told the woman to perform a sexual act with him.
The suspect is a Hispanic man of about 40, with medium build, short hair and a heavy accent.
