The Washington Nationals placed first baseman Matt Adams on the 10-day injured list and recalled fan favorite Jake Noll from Triple-A Fresno.

Adams left the Nationals’ game Saturday with a left shoulder strain. Manager Dave Martinez told reporters Adams was getting an MRI done Sunday morning.

Adams joins a plethora of teammates on the IL: Trea Turner, Ryan Zimmerman, Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto are all currently dealing with injuries.

Noll, an infielder, had a terrific spring training and made Washington’s opening day roster by surprise. He has appeared in four games for the Nationals so far and drew the game-winning bases-loaded walk April 3 against the Phillies.

Noll was enjoying a successful stretch with the Fresno Grizzlies, with an active seven-game hitting streak at the Triple-A level.
