President Trump is still “healthy and energetic without complaints” after a partial physical exam Saturday at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the White House said.

The president visited the medical center in Bethesda, Maryland, Saturday as part of his routine annual checkup.

White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said the 73-year-old Mr. Trump left the hospital “after a quick exam and labs.”

“The president remains healthy and energetic without complaints, as demonstrated by his repeated vigorous rally performances in front of thousands of Americans several times a week,” she said.

The president also greeted the medical staff of Walter Reed “to share his thanks for all the outstanding care they provide to our Wounded Warriors, and wish them an early happy Thanksgiving,” Ms. Grisham said.

It was his ninth trip to Walter Reed while in office.

“Before leaving, he met with the family of a special forces soldier injured in Afghanistan,” she said.

Earlier, the White House said Mr. Trump was making use of some down time on the weekend to get his annual checkup.

“Anticipating a very busy 2020, the president is taking advantage of a free weekend here in Washington, D.C., to begin portions of his routine annual physical exam at Walter Reed,” Ms. Grisham said.

After the president’s physical exam last winter, presidential physician Dr. Sean Conley said Mr. Trump was in “very good overall health.” The 6-foot-3-inch Trump weighed 243 pounds at that time.

The president doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol. He takes a daily dose of rosuvastatin, a medication used to treat high cholesterol.
