LAS VEGAS (AP) - A Las Vegas man has questioned a funeral home after his brother was cremated in Chicago and his cremains were shipped to Nevada in a blueberry box.

KVVU-TV reported Wednesday that the family said they did not know where the ashes were for months since Chester Rankins died in August.

His older brother Duval Rankins says he called Brian Pickett Funeral Home in Chicago more than a dozen times, but no one called him back.

Owner Brian Pickett says he dropped off the cremains Oct. 21 and a post office attempted delivery.

Pickett says the cremains were in a proper box shipped inside a blueberry box.

Rankins says he didn’t receive a tracking number.

The family says they spent over $5,000.

Pickett offered the family $500 and an urn.
