BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) - Police in Bridgeport say they have a suspect in custody in the city’s latest homicide.

Police spokesman Terron Jones tells the Connecticut Post that 911 calls reporting shots fired on Mill Hill Avenue came in just after 10 a.m. Friday.

The gunfire left one male victim dead.

He says police “apprehended a male suspect almost immediately.”

The names of the victim and the suspect have not yet been confirmed.

Jones said detectives are investigating and more information would be released later in the day.

The homicide is the city’s 15th of the year, and the first since the Sept. 8.
