WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - One of eight people charged in connection with the fatal shooting of two 16-year-old girls in central Kentucky has pleaded guilty.

WKYT-TV reports Ronnie Ellis pleaded guilty Thursday in Clark Circuit Court to two counts of murder, wanton endangerment and tampering with evidence.

Authorities have said Ellis and others were involved in a gunfight in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Nov. 7, 2017 and the girls, Adrianna Castro and Kayla Holland, were caught in the crossfire.



WKYT reports Ellis admitted during the court hearing to being involved in the shooting.

One other person has pleaded guilty in the case. Charges are still pending against the others.

Sentencing for Ellis was set for March 5.
