ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Another Virginia teen has been indicted in a fatal shooting of a 17-year-old.
The Roanoke Times reports 17-year-old Ozmeik Rae’Quan Clements was indicted Monday on a first-degree murder charge. Clements and 18-year-old co-defendant Cinque Tarik Fayette are accused of killing Savion Scales in September.
Scales was found dead in a car near a Roanoke intersection with a gunshot wound to his chest. Fayette was soon arrested, and Clements was named a suspect.
The newspaper says Clements surrendered to police on Oct. 1, but the charge against him was certified late last month in juvenile court and sent to an adult court. It says he’s being held at a juvenile detention center but may be transferred to an adult jail if the case isn’t resolved by his 18th birthday in April.
