BELLEVUE, Neb. (AP) - A Bellevue day care worker has been arrested after being accused of injuring a 2-year-old child in her care.
Police say the 27-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday, nearly a week after a mother went to police and reported her child had been injured at It’s a Kidz World Daycare in Bellevue. Police say the toddler suffered a dislocated elbow.
Police say an investigation found that the arrested employee caused the injury. She was arrested on suspicion of child abuse and booked into the Sarpy County Jail, where she remained Wednesday afternoon. Formal charges had not appeared in online court records by Wednesday afternoon.
The Omaha World-Herald reports that an employee who answered the phone Wednesday at the day care said the accused worker had been fired.
