CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - A new judge has been confirmed to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
West Virginia’s U.S. senators, Republican Shelley Moore Capito and Democrat Joe Manchin, both said they voted in favor of Frank W. Volk’s confirmation. Volk was confirmed 92-0 Wednesday.
Volk has been chief judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and teaches at West Virginia University College of Law.
Volk will fill the vacancy created when Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr. took senior status.
