PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Police say a Portland man riding a Tri-Met bus beat a woman with his skateboard and his fists after she asked him to stop swearing and yelling at the driver.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Dustin Wood faces multiple charges in the attack that landed Robin Wilson in the hospital with a deep gash to her forehead and a swollen eye, police and court documents allege.

A Multnomah County grand jury on Thursday indicted Wood on charges of assault, unlawful use of a weapon and interfering with public transportation.

Court records show Wood pleaded not guilty Friday.

Police say Wood boarded bus around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 9.

Court records show that after watching the man berate the driver over bus fare, Wilson asked him to stop. Records say she was then hit with a skateboard and punched in the face.
