“Saturday Night Live” cast member Kenan Thompson said the U.S. may be getting tired of President Trump.

“I think anything overly repetitive gets a little tiring,” he said Sunday about the show’s portrayal of President Trump, according to The Hill. “But it seems like there’s just Trump fatigue in general. So we’ll see how that plays out. It seems like there’s a new day approaching.”

“SNL” has drawn the president’s ire over their portrayal of him by actor and ardent Trump critic Alec Baldwin, calling it a “total Republican hit job.”

Mr. Baldwin won an Emmy for his portrayal of the president in 2017 and despite saying in June he was “so done” with playing Mr. Trump, he reprised the role during the show’s 45th season this year.

Mr. Thompson also said he wants to see other 2020 presidential candidates make cameos such as Sen. Kamala Harris, who Maya Rudolph portrayed last month.

“I mean, I think it would be funny to see Kamala do it with Maya on the show. That would be a lot of fun,” he said, adding that the 2016 appearance of Sen. Bernard Sanders alongside the actor portraying him, “Curb Your Enthusiasm’s” Larry David, was “awesome.”

“We’re supposed to be giving equal time to anybody, so I guess the door’s open to whoever,” Mr. Thompson said.
