BOULDER, Utah (AP) - Utah deputies have found the body of a New Jersey man about a month after he went for a hike and did not return.

Garfield County sheriff’s office deputies said Wednesday that the body of 72-year-old Norman Everett Applegate was discovered Tuesday and recovered by a search and rescue crew Wednesday.

Authorities say Applegate left Boulder for a day hike Sept. 26 and did not return.

Deputies did not say where his body was found, or which trail he was on when he died.

Deputies say a preliminary investigation has shown no suspicious activity.

The investigation is ongoing.

Applegate was from Seaside Park, New Jersey.
