PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man faces up to nine years in prison for sexually molesting a 13-year-girl he knew.
Attorney General Peter Neronha announced Friday that 55-year-old George Dugas, of Woonsocket, pleaded no contest at trial earlier this month to first-degree child molestation. Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 20.
He faces a sentence of 25 years with nine years to serve, and the balance suspended with probation. He also faces mandatory sex offender registration and counseling.
Prosecutors say between February 4, 2013 and February 3, 2014, Dugas molested the girl at an apartment in Woonsocket.
