The Washington Nationals announced that Capitals star winger Alex Ovechkin will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Monday’s Game 4 of National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Ovechkin and several of his teammates made a memorable visit to Nationals Park for a regular-season game in June 2018. On that day the Stanley Cup was on display and Ovechkin, needing a do-over, threw a second ceremonial first pitch to Max Scherzer.

Scherzer is expected to start Monday for the Nationals. The game will begin at 6:40 p.m. at Nationals Park.

Washington also announced Medal of Honor recipient David Bellavia will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Sunday night’s game. Bellavia is the first living recipient of the Medal of Honor for service in the Iraq War.

The George Mason “Green Machine” Pep Band will perform at the Budweiser Terrace until 45 minutes prior to the first pitch Sunday. At the same time, local artists DJ Flexx will perform at the Center Field Plaza and DJ Alkimist at the Home Plate Gate.
