Beto O’Rourke’s “hell yeah” rally cry about taking AR-15s from Americans has resulted in a “Beto Special” sales boom for an Arizona businessman.
Alpha Dog Firearms Owner Matt Boggs is jokingly referring to the Democrat as his “good friend” in the wake of last week’s presidential primary debates.
Customers flocked to his $349.99 sale of the iconic rifle and his response was covered by InfoWars, TheHollowNet on YouTube, and the conservative website Townhall.
“The media attention from our post has been INSANE!” Mr. Boggs wrote Sunday on Facebook.
“I saw the comments that he made, and I was kinda like, ‘You know what: the hell with this guy,’” the Tempe businessman said during an hour-long YouTube interview.
“Our $349.99 AR deal sold out in less than 4 hours,” he wrote in another Facebook post. “We’re trying to process the orders and work on getting more special deals for our good friend gun-grabber Beto.”
Mr. O’Rourke told ABC News and Univision debate moderators in Houston last week that he considered AR-15 “weapons of war” that must be confiscated from Americans if he were elected president.
The former Texas representative also started selling “HELL YES WE’RE GOING TO TAKE YOUR AR-15” T-shirts for $30 on his campaign website.
