PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man who was found to have drugs and a gun in his car after he was pulled over for failing to use a turn signal has pleaded guilty.
Federal prosecutors say 30-year-old Scott Arnum, of Providence, pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges including possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and being felon in possession of a firearm.
Arnum was stopped by Pawtucket police in September 2017.
They say he had a large bag of marijuana and six bags of crack cocaine inside his clothing. Police searched his vehicle and found a 9 mm handgun and two loaded magazines in the glove box.
Arnum had previously been convicted of drug and gun charges and was not allowed to have a weapon.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 6.
