STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) - Stamford police are investigating a fatal shooting in the city.

Police say 39-year-old Torrick Johnson was found at the rear of an apartment complex at about 11 p.m. Wednesday on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to Stamford Hospital where he died of his injuries.

Lt. Michael Noto says investigators have identified a person of interest in the case, but no names or arrests were announced.

He says there is no indication that the shooting was connected to another non-fatal shooting in the city on Wednesday night. In the other case, an 18-year-old man showed up at the hospital with minor gunshot wounds. He was treated and released.
